Hi
First of all, Thanks Josh for creating this community, it is life saving! I hope it becomes bigger soon.
I am a Civil Engineer and a Research Assistant in a university, so basically 2 jobs
I use my currect computer daily, sometimes for extended hours, but it is a little too old by now (i5 7th gen , gtx 1060) and I need the portability
I deal with many different software , most are heavy computations with large data which is intense on the cpu , sometimes 3d simulations that is not very GPU heavy
I do game rarely [light games such as league of legends or valorant]
I do (Very rarely, like once a year) play heavy graphics games such as exodus series or tomb raider series and when I do I prefer to enjoy best possible graphics
Now to my preferences and priorities:
Best Possible Battery life with best possible portability [I do have a type C 100w power bank if that helps], something that I can dock to my screens and mouse and keyboard and its charger at home, then when i neeed to go out just unplug it and take it with me simply and not worry about battery life or breaking my shoulder.
Something upgradable, cause I think I will definitely need 32GB of memory minimum and 2TB ROM minimum, if minimums are provided it doesnt have to be upgradable
metallic chasis , or chasis that doesnt break easily is a plus, i once cracked the chasis of an rog zephyrus g16 while trying to upgrade it, and it still hurts until today
, the clips are too easy to break!!!
defenitally not mac, i cant use the OS and I will need too much time to get familiar, i am too used to windows
I am willing to pay around 2500USD for something i can buy in the middle east (cause if its sold here i will be able to find replacement parts if needed, otherwise if company provides international warrenty i can ship it from US or UK or similer), I am willing to pay more for a laptop that perfectly aligns with everything I said here
Please note that in the middle east the prices are higher by around 40 to 50% than the US or Canada
guess I yapped too much but hey, thats what a community is for right ? ![]()
