Looking for a replacement/upgrade

Hello everyone, I currently have Lenovo LOQ 15IAX9 with i5-12450HX and RTX 4060.

I’m pretty happy about my laptop, but I can’t leave the room with it because it has poor battery performance also has an annoying fan noise when you start noticing it. My plan was just to upgrade the ram from 16 to 32 and go with it, but lately I want to have some portability with my laptop, but it’s not possible. So I’m currently looking for a replacement/upgrade, but not so soon. Also, I’m not looking for peak gaming performance as there is no need for RTX series or any high performance gpu because I’m planning to play my games on other devices. Open for any suggestions.

There are many options, look at Josh’s yt channel to find a good laptop. For portability and battery life, go with a macbook pro ( the undisputed winner in this category). For a windows alternative wait for panther lake laptops to release.

What exactly will you be doing with the laptop? If you’re not gaming at all and are sticking to basic tasks, the MacBook Air is a fantastic option. On the Windows side, I recently purchased the HP Omnibook Flip for my in-laws, and they’ve been extremely happy with it.

What is your budget for this laptop you are planning to buy?

I know you said you dont need a GPU, but reading between the lines….do you think you’d like one still?

I have the IdeaPad Pro 16 which is a thinner lighter laptop with more battery life than its Legion cousins. It still has a GPU but running at lower wattage for some light to mid gaming. To me, its kind of like the best of both worlds. While gaming and video editing on my desktop at home is a better experience, I can still do some gaming on the go and edit a video in a pinch on my laptop if I need to.

If this sounds like it would be appealing to you, then check out the IdeaPad Pro 16 which Josh reviewed as well as the new Gigabyte Aero X16 which is in the same laptop class. Both of these come in around the ~$1K range.

If money is not a concern, then there are much more premium laptops like the MacBook Pro, Yoga Pro 9i, Zephyrus G16, and ProArt P16 that you could consider.
