Im only concerned because the Reviews for the gigabyte are no that great but the hardware is a good deal. im not as informed on the laptop market i dont want to spend more then 1800 before tax

Overwatch 2 runs easily on that, Tarkov on the other hand is an unoptimized game no matter what hardware you have, but it should run without issues with that laptop, you may have to apply some tweaks recommended by the community to mitigate potential issues.
I would go for the HP Omen Max since it’s new and I think it’s a better model than the one from Gigabyte.
You can also consider these options if you can increase your budget by a little.
The hp omen and gigbyete are similar i think the omen has a weaker cpu. Ai 375hx vs core ultra 275hx the online reviews made me worry about it’s quality. Im just not sure if online reviews for bad quality are accurate both laptops have a 5080 sub 2k it’s a good deal
If I were willing to spend 1800$ for a gaming laptop, I wouldn’t be getting the gigabyte aorus. Gigabyte laptops are not well built, the display is not good compared to its peers - if you have a very tight budget then it’s understandable. But for 1800$ bucks you can get any good gaming laptop from a reputable brand. I would lean more on buying a HP OMEN max if I were you, pretty good laptop for the price.

Unless you think getting an acer helios 16s it’s 1800 at my best buy 5070 ti 275hx + oled im only worried about tarkov running well im not sure if I should bank more on the cpu then the gpu
It has a higher tier IPS panel it’s not a bad panel plus without an OLED you don’t have the fear of OLED burn-in. By the way- not to be judgy why do you want a 5080 GPU? Is it just for gaming or you will be doing some AI learning?
Just gaming on it mainly tarkov and ow2 5080 has 16gb vram so I figured it last longer but not sure if the weaker cpu is fine compared to a 275hx and 5070 ti there are no reviews that include tarkov so im basically blind picking. i will go with what you think is the best option for me for 1800$
i went ahead and reserved the HP OMEN max with the IPS panel and will picking it up friday 1519 is a good deal on it
The CPU is good enough don’t worry, it’s a powerful laptop easily play games on ultra settings. And congrats on the new OMEN.
