Lenovo IdeaPad 16'' Business recommendation (Intel Core 7 240H vs Ryzen AI 7 350)

Hi Community,

I’m looking for a great laptop for our accounting department and I’m torn between two options.

Requirements: 16’’ aluminum body, good/great IPS display, 16GB or more, Intel or AMD fast and efficient processors, good port selection with HDMI included, no heat or fan noise and numpad.

Budget: under $1300.00

Optional: USB-C charging.

My other criteria is that they will be using this laptop for the next 5 years and they need a truly reliable equipment for any accounting multitasking with OneStream, file processing and that doesn’t struggle with InTune policies.

Could you please recommend the best one?

My options are:

Lenovo 2025 IdeaPad Slim Business AI 16’’ WUXGA with 32GB and Intel Core 7 240H.

Lenovo 2025 IdeaPad Copilot+ Business 16’’ FHD+ Touchscreen with 64GB and Ryzen AI 7 350

You are going to be overpaying with those links since those are from third party sellers

This is an upgrade of the AMD one you posted, it’s going to have better battery life than the Intel but slightly worse performance.

Edit: However, if you want the same laptops you posted, they are a few hundred dollars cheaper on Lenovo’s website.

Following up on your answer. Will I have heat or fan noise issues with any of the models that I posted?

I think since the Intel processors are older refreshes of prior gens, you might be more likely to get heat and fan noise on those. My recommendation between the two would be the Zen 5 AMD CPUs. Based on our testing, you may also get better battery life on those. There is a lower and higher CPU option on both laptops as well, the lower Ryzen 5 or Core 5 CPU will perform worse in multi-core with better battery life. The Core 7 or Ryzen 7 will perform a bit better in multi-core with slightly worse battery life.
