I’ll be starting medical school and was wondering if anyone had a recommendation for laptop. Mainly will be using it for school work, watching videos and maybe some light gaming. Mostly looking for something with a decent screen and good battery life. Not a huge fan of macbooks either.
Max budget is around 800-850$.

Smaller one but has a ton of value.
This one is larger, has a better screen, and has 24 GB of RAM.
There is also the Acer Swift 16 (AI) available at Best Buy and it is currently just under $800 with a 2880x1800 OLED screen and Intel’s efficient Lunar Lake CPUs.
There are some notable downsides to this model, although two of them, the higher MSRP and the lower resolution screen on the 14 inch model, are not present here. The only two I can think of is that it has only 16 GB of soldered RAM and the build quality isn’t as good as more expensive laptops, but for the price, it is better than others just a few hundred dollars less.
