I’m looking for the best Lenovo laptop for school (economics). Preferably a 16 inch one and one that won’t run out of juice within the next 5 years. I ordered (for testing) a Asus Zenbook S16 with the HX370, but I’m worried about the keyboard and heating situation. I also ordered the Lenovo Yoga 9i 2in1 with the Ultra 7 258V, but I’m concerned about the performance if it is enough for the future and also the 14 inch screen that is maybe a bit on the small side. Please help me, I’m terrible with laptops. THANK YOU!
Lenovo Yoga 9i 2 in 1 is a great pick, I personally like that one Over the Zen book, but you can test out both and tell us your experience.
There are also Panther Lake laptops coming out really soon so you can check those as well like the Dell XPS 16 2026 and HP Omnibook X 16 2026
In my eyes The lenovo yoga 9i is better than the asus zenbook S16. Although the chip in the yoga 9i is meant for basic tasks and i usually don’t suggest anyone with the Ultra 7 258V but in your case i think it could work out. Since you’re an economics student you wouldn’t be doing anything that would stress the chip.
If you’re getting the yoga 9i in a good discount then it’s okay, but if you can wait for a few months and have the money to spare then take a look at the newer intel chips that just released this month. Laptops with those chips would start shipping in late feb- early March. Those newer chips are powerful but battery efficient at the same time. Moreover the igpu in those chips have also improved significantly. For the next 4-5 years i think it will serve your needs well. Economics student doesn’t need a lot of performance anyways.
What do you think the prices will be on those new laptops?
Since they just came out, it will be sold at it’s MRP. See the MRP of the yoga 9i- expect something similar to that
