I see a deal on the HP OMEN MAX 16 - 2025 for 2059$ on this site but when i press on the link it shows different specs with a different price when i customize to the same specs GPU- 5080, CPU Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX, RAM-32 DDR5-5600 MHz, Storge- 1TB, Display- IPS 240HZ, it gives me a price of $2,830 after sale am i missing something or why is it way off?
It seems that HP raised the prices of many of their laptops today at both Best Buy and their own website. We have fixed some of their laptops and we have now gotten to that Omen Max. Sorry about that.
ahh i just missed it then, thanks for the reply
No problem. Prices change every day, so it can be like playing whack a mole with making sure prices are up to date.
This laptop is selling for $1,799 at Microcenter with the following specs:
Ryzen AI 9 HX 375, 32GB DDR5-5600, 5080, 1TB PCIe Gen4 NVMe M.2 SSD, 16" WQXGA IPS, 2.5Gb LAN, 2x2 WiFi 7 (802.11be), Bluetooth 5.4. I recognize that the 275HX is the stronger, though less efficient, CPU but the best deal to be had is on this $1,799 configuration.
If this site is going to ignore Microcenter and other retailers because Josh is not an associate getting commissions from recommendations (or for any other reason), then unfortunately it will not have the best deals.
I think the main reason we don’t use Micro Center is because pretty mcuh every laptop sold by Micro Center has to either be bought or picked up in store; there is no option for delivery.
And don’t get me wrong, I live near several of them (especially the one in Yonkers NY), but some parts of the US might be lucky to have one in an hour and a half drive.
I have recommended an HP Omen Slim to somebody who lived near the Phoenix AZ Micro Center that just opened very recently, but given there are currently only around 30 locations as of the Phoenix store opening, that makes it very difficult to list it when many people may not be able to make the long drive to a location to pick it up.
Hi Cameron,
I watched Josh’s latest video yesterday and was thrilled to see how quickly the team is expanding to so many new countries! Congratulations on the incredible progress. As a huge fan from India, I’m really excited and wondering: any timeline for when you guys might launch here?
Also, just out of curiosity (and admiration for everything you’ve built), what kinds of challenges do you typically run into when entering a new market? You started in the US, moved into Canada, Australia, and several others - what were the biggest hurdles you faced along the way, and how did the team overcome them?
Love your work for the laptop community, made our lives so easy thanks to your non-biased reviews. Keep up the good work👍
Hi Cameron,
Thanks for your response. I recognize that MicroCenter may not be convenient for everyone, but this does seem to be a US-centric site and there are still plenty of people who do live near enough to one to make purchasing from there possible.
Regardless, why not list them and let people decide for themselves if the trip is worth the money? To decide otherwise on their behalf seems a bit paternalistic.
Just my 2¢.
