I watched Cierra’s excellent review of the Yoga Slim 7i Ultra Aura edition. I thought the laptop looked great. I wasn’t sure whether to get the Ultra X9 or Ultra 7. I don’t plan to use it for video editing. I don’t code directly but do want to use Claude code/co-work extensively). Other than that, I mainly use my computer for typical Windows Office Applications (I work in finance) and opening far too many browser tabs.
Battery life is pretty important to me which is why I won’t get the Yoga Pro 7i following Josh’s review, but I can accept the higher performing X9 might have a slightly less good battery life vs Ultra 7, if it’s noticeably better. Do you have a sense of the battery drain difference (i.e. if the X9 drains battery 10% , 20% 30% more battery)?
More broadly, which would you recommend between the two? The pricing difference isn’t that larger (about $215 USD for X9)
Also if you have any others you think I should consider please let me know (not Apple).
I’m upgrading from a top of the range Dell XPS 15 from 2017. So I don’t make the jump often and want to get this right.
