Which is a better buy on a budget, Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Aura Edition 14 with Core Ultra 5 or Core Ultra 7

I’m currently using a Lenovo Ideapad 14 (Intel i5 10th gen) with 8 GB ram.

My workflow includes running OBS studio, 2 browsers and Obsidian simultaneously, which my laptop struggles to do.

I’m looking to upgrade it with the 2025 Yoga Slim 7i AE. I want to maximize my battery life whist having enough performance to run my workflow comfortably.

I am on a tight budget and will by the cheapest model that fits my workflow.

I have a few questions

  1. Will 16 gb ram be enough for this?
  2. Do I necessarily need the Core Ultra 7 or does the Core Ultra 5 suffice for my workflow?

I think you should go for the Core Ultra 7 version. You need the boost for the task you are going to perform, plus IGPU is better as well
