Thinkpad L vs T series?

I’m going to be looking for a laptop to major in business. I’m looking for a Thinkpad or a Macbook. I prefer Linux but I’m fine with macOS cause I feel like that’ll be more beneficial for business major than Linux. In the country where I am from the Thinkpad T series prices are insanely high and definitely doesn’t match what I see in the official Lenovo website. The T14 gen 6 AMD right now costs more than a spec’ed up m5 Macbook pro which is crazy. I’m considering an L series cause it has way better prices than the T series for similar chips. But I do worry about build quality cause people say the T series is way better. I haven’t went to a store to check the build quality in person but I’d appreciate if any of you that have a long term experience with an L series thinkpad to give me some recommendations. My budget is up to around 1500 dollars (cant go above that). I want a laptop with good Linux compatibility, good battery life, sharp display, and no heat issues or poor build quality. A terrible mechanical trackpad is fine since I’m mostly a keyboard focused user. I can probably just get an m4 Macbook pro right now as it is at the same price as the m4 Macbook air 15 with 512 gigs of storage which will save me a lot of money but I’d love to see any other options that would be more worth it.

I’ll go with the Macbook air 15 in this case, don’t overpay for the T line series.
