Thinkbook 16P for Solidworks

Hello,

I am a SOLIDWORKS user and I’d like to get your opinions on how well the following laptop handles daily CAD workflows before I buy it:

ThinkBook 16p (04CD) | Ultra 9-275HX | 32GB RAM | 1TB SSD | RTX 5060 | 2.5K 240Hz

I would love to hear from anyone using a similar setup, and I am also open to alternative recommendations if you have them.

Thank you!

Should be completely fine. Maybe you can go for a gaming laptop that has more VRAM, like the Zephyrus G16 with 5070ti

Hi @Eli, do you do any simulations in Solidworks? How big are your projects?

Simulation only for single parts or simple assembly.

In that case I think the laptop you suggested should be plenty for what you’d need. Actually I think it might be slightly overkill for what you’d do but it should do the job just fine.
