Hey, I am about to become a mechanical engineering student and am in need of a pretty beefy laptop. After doing research i have come down to the Legion 7i 5070 and the Zephyrus G16 5070TI. I have really come to love the Legion 7i 5070 as it looks great and it feels good to use and carry.
The only thing that is really making me question my decision is the fact the 5070 only has 8gb of VRAM and obviously going into MechE i need to be able to run graphicly intense CAD programs which the 8gb vram might be bad with.
This then led me to the G16 which has roughly the same internals besides obviously the GPU for around the same price. I was not able to touch/feel/use the G16 so i am completely flying blind in terms of actually living with it. Given the fact im going to be spending $2000-$2200 on a laptop i want to be sure that im getting my bang for the buck.
SO i guess my main question is: Is it worth it to buy a laptop that i havent seen irl just because it has a better gpu?
