Requesting windows Laptop suggestions

Hi,

I am looking for a windows laptop that is reasonably portable yet upgradable (ram, ssd, batteries) with a 16 or 32 gb ram, with at least a 2.8-3k matte display, 1tb-2tb SSD. with good battery life. I would like to be able to use it for basic office use, running scientifc programs like mathematica, pymol for rendering biomolecules and virtual box for running linux. Budget ~$1200, lower the better ofcourse.

Is this a good time to buy the 2025 laptop models or should I wait for the newer CPUs?

In terms of upgradability, looks like the RAM is soldered, but the SSD and battery are upgradable/replacable. I suppose if I purchased it with 32 gb of ram, it should be sufficient for future proofing.
