Help needed to find the right Laptop

I’m trying to decide which laptop to buy. I’m running 12 email accounts at the same time, two screens, using Power Toys for window-splitting, Google Sheets, a CRM, VPN, VOIP phone calls, zoom meetings and a few other apps. Right now, my laptop keeps freezing and sometimes even my headsets stop working because I’m running out of memory. What would you recommend?

If you provide a budget, I’ll be able to recommend some options

Budget is not an issue its my business, I need something for the long run, dont want to change every 3 years.

I’ll give you some decent options for you to consider, My first thought for a Premium no frills Laptop will be a MacBook Pro with m5 or m4 with extra memory if you are ok with using macOS but since you mentioned you are using Windows with Power Toys then my suggestions would be:

and oddly enough

Since you mentioned you are always having to split your screen, why not have 2 screens from the get-go, this form factor could be helpful for you.

For the value pick, consider this one

This one has a really Strong CPU and good amount of RAM for your needs

Which one would be he strongest for the long run, WHat if i use a different program to split the screens, would mac be a better choice? thank for the answers

If you are ok with Mac OS the Macbook is the best option for longevity but keep in mind it can’t be upgraded.

Im not sure that im ok with Mac OS but If its the best one, I might as well start

The only downside for me is that it doesnt have wifi 7.

DO you do shipping ?

I’m not selling the laptops myself, I gave you links where you can buy the laptop you want from verified retailers.

Ok, thank you, im thinking about the m5 with 32GB Ram

  1. Macbook pro M4/M5- if handled with care it could last you for a decade or so. Go for upgraded RAM like 24 or 32 GB.
  2. Any Lenovo ThinkPad (preferably the X1 carbon)- built like a tank, premium laptop.
  3. Macbook air M4 (maxed out ram and SSD) - your tasks aren’t demanding as per my deduction, MBA is totally fine if you want to save some bucks.

Right now im with Asus vivobook 16GB ram and if I open you tube or do zoom call my laptop freeze. I have many windows open at the same time working on 2 CRM’s and VPN, VOIP my lap top crashing. I also travel a lot so I need something that wont be 16inch and heavy

I can some what understand your pain. I own a MSI Katana from 2020 and it’s big bulky and the battery doesn’t last me more than 2 hours light use- I couldn’t even travel with it thanks to its bad battery hence I had to buy an ipad to watch movies or fine tune my presentations when I’m outside.

I really think a Macbook air is good for you- it’s light and small and has an amazing battery life. But upgrade ram to 24 or 32 GB (for future-proofing). Other than this you can go with a macbook pro (32Gb ram)

If you want a windows alternative, then my personal favourite - ThinkPad X1 carbon. I literally want to sell my current laptop to buy the X1 carbon - but it’s expensive so I have to wait for a sale. The X1 carbon is premium, built like a tank (like any ThinkPad) and you get good specs in it.

If I have to rank preferences then Macbook air> ThinkPad X1> macbook pro

The X1 Carbon what generation and model

I am talking about the ThinkPad gen 13 (with a lunar lake processor) it’s not a high performing processor. But it’s powerful enough for most tasks. It’s ridiculously expensive.

Another one i wanted to add was this ThinkPad X9 aura edition- this ones more cheaper than the X1 carbon but it doesn’t feel cheap. You can find a 15 inch model as well.

I have decided to go on Apple Mac pro M5 with 32GB Ram, Is it worth it to add the Nano screen?

I don’t think you need the nano screen tbh.

Great choice! The nano texure glass is great if you work outside a lot. The downgrade is that the colours don’t look as vibrant as a glossy screen. Is it worth the 200$? I don’t think so. But do you really need it? Is a question you need to decide as per your use. Do you work outdoors more or you are glued in your office?

I mostly work indoor, sometimes I do travel but not as much as I work indoor.

I heard that In Jan the M5 pro and M6 should be out and they will be totally different. do you think that I should wait?

Nah, they will release the M5 Pro and M5 max chips. The M6 will probably release exactly 12 months from now.

If you have time then go to an Apple store to look at the MacBooks, compare the Nano texure glass to the glossy screen and decide, you really have to look at it yourself to decide if you like it or not- I know some who like the nano display and some who hate it. I do not think you need a M5 Pro or a Max chip, your tasks are not that demanding. But if you want to future proof your laptop (say use it for more than 6 years) then you can go for a M5 Pro chip.
