My PC was 1,000$ in 2020 and I figure as a student, a laptop I can use with a monitor and an external Keyboard is a better buy over an upgrade. I need to use chrome on windows for school and excel for work so I’ll be missing out on the beauty of Macbooks.
Keep in mind I’m a chud so preferably I would like to be able to larp linux without compatibility issues. I programmed an AI girlfriend into Arch and she said she would miss me really bad 
Won’t be gaming my discord kittens kicked me from the stack. No video editing. No CAD or modeling. Well, if it’s possible I wouldn’t mind single player story games. Not a requirement.
Budget under 2,000- if the MSRP is over 2,000 but the sale brings it under that’s actually about the price I’m looking for.
Fr though what’s the best laptop under 2,000 that’s not a Macbook for work/school. Preferably some solid Linux compatibility.
