Windows setup online vs. offline

Recently I decided to reset my laptop (Zenbook, using MyASUS in WinRE, so I kept all the ASUS apps) for a bunch of reasons.

Given that one of them was that Windows creates a user account using the first FIVE letters of your email and my name has six, I decided to set it up using the offline method (bypassnro) which lets you name your user what you want. Shocking, I know!

Anyways since then it seems to be snappier and I realised while playing a game that despite not having re-set my settings to low and 30 fps I was getting the same low fan noise as I had been, pre-reset, with low settings, fps cap and CPU boost disabled. Maybe even quieter than my older Legion 5 running the same game.

A quick search tells me that this is due to clean Windows installs being significantly less bloated, even when done with the ASUS tool which reinstalls all their various apps (and this being a Duo there’s quite a few) so the only difference is the Microsoft online processes.

Which leads to my question: Is this something the JJT team can look into? I imagine they’d have an easier time than I getting two identical devices and setting one up offline, then looking at the difference (I can’t really afford to reset my personal device too often). Or could it be a waste of time, I promise I won’t get offended!
