Hey Josh, thinking of getting my lil brother a programming laptop. Have my eyes on new Asus proart 16. Regarding the specs i want to ask about gpu like in other laptops like g16 is it worth it to get a gpu higher than 5070ti regarding the hit on battery life using higher performing gpus. He is going to university to next year for cs. I want to get sth that is best for him, might go for 5090 too if everything is great. Looking for more of price to battery life while maintaining good performance kind of deal. Thanks. Everyone feel free to add to the convo. Also when can we expect the full review for this particular device.

I don’t know where you are located but here in the USA there is only a 5070 and a 5090 option. The options are paired with specific displays. My video coming out tomorrow actually goes through all 3 displays and their specs and our test results. So check that out.
On battery, you shouldn’t be using the dedicated GPU. The GPU is heavily throttled and even so it will go through the battery pretty fast regardless of which one you get. If you turn off the GPU and run integrated GPU only on battery, i’d expect all to use a similar amount of power. It would be an interesting thing to test
