Undecided between buying a MacBook Air or Pro.

I’m an Industrial Engineering student. I currently have a 2021 Asus ROG Zephyrus M16. It has its flaws, but I’ve learned to live with them.

However, I constantly need to be plugged in to work on it, it’s heavy, and I find it too bulky to carry around the university. Since I work with Solidworks and Power BI, my plan is to keep it and buy another one—a lighter one with amazing battery life.

I feel like the 13.6" MacBook Air with an M4 processor, 512GB of storage, and 16GB of RAM is what I ideally need. Even though I’ve never been a big fan of small laptops, I feel like it’s what I need.

My question is: are there any other options worth considering that I haven’t thought of? Or is that laptop the best option for me?

I thought Power BI didn’t work on Mac. At least not the native version. Are you ok with this? If so a Mac is fine.

If not I would look at the ThinkPad X9 15 ←- Even though its a 15inch display it is MUCH lighter than your M16.

If you want a 14inch this is a nice one
