the 2026 Asus Zenbook Duo was Panther Lake’s official test laptop on CES 2026, and there were two whole videos where the JustJosh team used it to test Panther Lake as a whole:
…so when can we expect the 2026 Zenbook Duo itself to get a review? Josh & Cierra didnt even bring it up during the 2nd podcast
I know it’s not what you asked for but as a 2025 m/y owner if there’s any questions you have ergonomically I can answer you.
As far as train usage, depends…on the train lmao. If the 2025’s kickstand is anything to go by, most well-maintained railways shouldn’t be able to shake it down.
Performance-wise, my 255H is going strong so expect a higher-tier, newer-gen, better-cooled 386H to not cause you any problems. I can even play titles like Minecraft, GTA or Fallout 4 in this crazy European heatwave without too much worry.
Thanks! Much appreciated.
Yeah should be okay in terms of shaking.
How deep is the setup footprint (keyboard is about 20 cm i believe)? (the half tray table is about 30 cm deep). Would I fit in horizontal or vertical setup? Keyboard on the lap would work, sure, but if it fits, all the better. Yeah peformance wise im not worried, neither battery life. how is that doing on your side with the 75wh?
In case you were asking me (remember, 2025), the keyboard is 21cm but quite uncomfortable on the lap by virtue of being thin, light and not grippy at all. The 2026’s is probably less flimsy which should help.
Stacked vertically, the main laptop bit can easily take up less than 20cm including the kickstand, whereas with two portrait screens I can get it to around 27, so it would be quite close to the edge of the tray table (and wide, possibly annoying your co-passengers).
Battery’s good tending towards great, I keep it on an 80% cap (though THANK YOU ASUS for providing a quick toggle to dash to 100% ASAP if you have a surprise need for it rather than the Lenovo way of waiting for Vantage to load, which is extremely slow, and digging through menus to get there). My on-battery tasks usually require a single screen so it’s not uncommon to lose between 5 and 10% in an hour depending on my task (ranging from document reading / writing to Minecraft).
The keyboard’s battery isn’t THAT great but has never bothered me. Three hours minimum, and you can run it wired for a little to keep using it and rejuice it while keeping the dual screens powered (plus you can USB it to another device with that port, nifty little feature!).
Thank you heaps for your inputs (yes '25 model is clear). Great to hear about this practical aspects, I shall do the same. Keyboard battery is supposed to get better as well.
I pulled the trigger, should get it next week.
Got it yesterday. So far very happy with it. It is a chunky boi, coming from a flip s, but that was expected. Got a 6 key rollover, BT and pogo, tested with a rollover tester. Train ergononmics are also okay.
