Lenovo Legion pro 7i gen 10 screen reflection warping/distorsions

Hi Josh & team,

Firstly, I would like to thank you, as well as congratulate you on doing a really fantastic job with laptop & tech reviews.

Your reviews really helped me learn a lot, and finally guided me to make a decision to buy Lenovo Legion 7 pro gen 10 couple of days ago.

Although I was well prepared for a glossy screen and its reflections, I was very unpleasantly surprised finding out that there is a SIGNIFICANT WARPING/DISTORSION of those screen reflections, which occur on a specific curved line/field on the screen. Just to add that there are not any signs of physical damage on the screen, and the image itself looks great.

Do you have any experience with it? I didn’t find any info or comments on that specific issue from your side on any of your Legion’s reviews.

So, I am quite concerned, is this my bad luck getting a faulty device, or that is something which can be considered “normal” for 2025 Lenovo Legion OLED screens? And consequently, should I act right away, and try to get my device exchanged for a new one? Or to accept this one, as any new one could have the very same issue?

Your advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Hey Nebojsa!

@cameron sent me your way.

I just looked at our Legion 7 Pro unit we have on the shelf here, and I did not notice any significant warping on the screen. I would say it is largely very uniform.

I don’t think it’s terribly uncommon for these screens to have a little bit of a warp or distortion to them – I just checked the ThinkPad X9 15 that I’m typing on right now and it is a bit “wavy”. But it’s not crazy or anything.

If you happen to be in the position to capture a good photo or video so I can see exactly what you’re seeing, that’d be super helpful.

Thanks!

Hi Seth!

Thank you for your reply.

I replied on email, but since it doesn’t appear here, I will also post the examples here.

Hey Nebojsa!

I’m sorry for the delay. First it was the weekend, then a crazy busy day yesterday.

I’ve been paying attention after seeing your post and can actually report that the Legion 5i and the Legion 7i that are on my desk right now both have some degree of warping on the screen. It is most noticeable close to the edges of the screen, but there is still some waviness even in the center. Even the ThinkPad X9 15 that I’m typing on right now has it pretty bad right in the center. Of course, on the X9, it has an anti-glare coating so it makes it hard to see. But it is there.

That leads me to believe – and this is just my unprofessional opinion – that some degree of “warping” is expected, and as long as the image itself looks completely fine with the screen is ON, it likely doesn’t warrant any sort of concern.

I hope that helps.
