Legion 5i (non pro) 255hx vs 275hx

Apparently there is a 275HX option for the non-pro legion 5i. Is it worth the extra ~100USD for that? performance for gaming will be the same on a 5060. but I also do a lot of coding so extra cores for compilation seems to be a good idea.

But I feel like it could hurt battery life and make it extra hot and loud. would that be true or is the power tuning done so they will be the same?

The 275HX is more powerful than the 255HX. You can see improvement in performance, but the improvement is not substantial. If you are thinking about power efficiency then the 255HX would be more power efficient in theory as the 275HX is actually a PC chip.

The 275hx will perform better but it will produce more heat and you will have less battery life

yea but like by how much? I can see benchmarks for them but not specifically on the non pro 5i. I would assume performance would be different since they have different cooling and size differences. I just want to know if it’s even worth considering for ~100$ extra

I think you are fine with the core ultra 7 255hx, the ultra 9 just adds 4 efficiency cores
