I need a laptop for school with specific criteria:
Minimum 15-inch screen.
Touchscreen with pen support.
32 GB RAM.
Minimum 1 TB SSD.
I prefer an ANSI keyboard layout without a numeric keypad.
I like a good trackpad and keyboard.
I need a good, sharp, and crisp screen for reading documents, preferably easy on the eyes.
The laptop should be fast and snappy.
No Snapdragon chips.
It should be below 1200CHF
I have been looking at the HP OmniBook X 16, but I felt that the keyboard was not very nice, with low key travel. It felt like there was no resistance, and I felt that I was not hitting anything and that I had to spread my fingers wide apart to hit the keys; I also made quite a few typing mistakes. The screen was okay, but I felt that it was a little dim.
Another laptop that I looked at was the Lenovo Yoga 7 2-in-1. The keyboard feel was good, with good resistance, but I felt that my fingers were quite crowded and that I also mispressed some keys because they were too close to each other. Also, the screen was not as sharp as the HP OmniBook one, and it strained my eyes a lot.
If a laptop comes to your mind that would suite me, please let me know.
For your preferences either the laptop would be very expensive or you need to compromise on some aspects. Most 2 in 1 laptops with pen support don’t have good displays, the whole idea of a 2 in 1 laptop is to be portable and there aren’t many 16 inch models as it wouldn’t be as portable as a 14 inch one. i suggested this laptop to my friend but unfortunately this model does not sell in my location. It has a haptic trackpad and the keyboard is good enough- the screen and pen support is where this shines. Unfortunately it’s a14 inch display with 60Hz. You can open lenovo’s official website to look at some of their 2 in 1 laptops. Over there you can actually customise you laptop for a better display if that’s what your issue is with the yoga.
