Hey Everyone,
I am looking to get the Asus ProArt px13 laptop, it’s current cost is around 1700 USD, but when I checked the graph on this site for this laptop, it showed that at some point it went down to >1400 USD and for a relatively long time, is this correct or is it just a glitch? If yes, I would wait till black Friday deals hit to get the laptop, which I’ll prolly do anyways, but was still curious about this.
Do note that it is an older laptop, so I’d personally wait until Black Friday, though there’s always the chance it could go out of stock before then.
That being said, be aware that its screen is 60 hz and the GPU is pretty old now too, so I would personally wait for Black Friday like you said.
Given what Cameron said. I’d try to get it for no more than about $1,200 but ideally $1,000 USD
Thank you for your reply Josh. Is this a good laptop to get still? I have a budget about around 1200-1300
And my needs are as follows:
-
It should be a 2in1 preferably since I like sketching and taking notes also like consuming content in tent mode and so on.
-
I don’t really game at all so I don’t really require a dedicated gpu, before this laptop i was considering a laptop with integrated gpu
-
It should have good performance since I code and I am also doing undergrad in electrical engineering.
-
It should be linux compatible. That means no arm based cpu
-
It should be oled and color accurate.
And as stated I’ll be waiting for the black friday sale, but do let me know if you have a better suggestion, I know about the omnibook ultra flip, but i thought px13 was better than omnibook
Thank You!
ps. It’d be nice to have a 120hz sure, but I don’t really mind the 60hz
Thank you for the reply Cameron!
Do you have a better laptop in mind? I have budget of around 12-1300, and have posted my needs in a laptop below in reply to josh’s comment. I don’t really mind the 60hz but i want a good looking display.
you want a laptop for coding, coursework and sketching? Either go with a yoga or a Omni book. The ProArt is fabulous but the 13 inch model feels a bit small to me for content viewing.
For your use case a igpu would suffice. Wait for the panther lake cpus to release, it has good igpu.
If you can’t wait then go with a Lenovo yoga 9i or HP omnibook X. Go with a 3k screen 120Hz. In best buy you can get these in a good price, but the catch is most 2 in 1 laptops have the lunar lake processors that are efficient but not that powerful. So I would suggest to find a varient that has AMD processor and IT should be new and powerful.
That would probably be what I would do as well. Wait for Panther Lake to release because it does seem like a pretty big iGPU boost.
