Looking for a Windows laptop that comes as close as possible to a MacBook Pro.
The only reason I am not getting MacBook is because I work on Microsoft Tools that dont work on apple.
My use case:
- Personal use (Movie, Songs, browsing) + work
- Data analyst / IT professional
- Power BI, SQL, Python, Excel, AI tools, VS Code, lots of browser tabs
- Want it to last 5–7 years
My biggest priorities are:
1. Battery life (real-world, not marketing claims)
2. Performance
3. Build quality
4. Screen quality
5. Reliability and long-term ownership
I keep hearing different opinions about laptops like the ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 14, ThinkPad T14s, Dell XPS 14 2026, Lenovo Yoga 7 Slim (Josh’s favorite), Asus Zenbook, and Snapdragon X Elite devices. (Can I even get Snapdragon chip laptop? I dont think so right?)
If you were buying today and wanted the closest Windows equivalent to a MacBook Pro, what would you choose and why?
I’d especially appreciate feedback from people who actually own these laptops and can comment on battery life, reliability, thermals, and long-term experience.
