It’d be nice to see what’s considered most important for “Basic Usage”, “School”, ect and in particular for “Engineering”.

Charles, what a great idea. I wonder where we can publish that on the site so people can see. I am out and about but off the top of my head…

School includes:

  • 16g memory or more
  • Weight below a certain amount to be portable
  • Price below a certain amount to be affordable
  • Processor should offer Basic or Good Performance

Basic Usage includes:

  • Processor should offer Basic or Good Performance
  • No dedicated GPU

Engineering includes

  • Good and Max Performance
  • Dedicated GPU
  • 32GB Memory

Please note, these defines our “use cases”. We keep them broad so that when people combine them they still see results. Our Top 10 lists though are hand picked and maintained regularly

I was looking / hoping for a mouse over popup on the categories page of the “Find my laptop” possibly from a little “i” info icon in each category.

edit: also a similar mouse over in the “Good For” section of the laptop list
