Can you kindly look into this lenovo thinkpad and tell me whether it is a smart buy or not?
Thinkpad e series have a bad reputation of reliability and design, especially flex in chassis. Can you tell me whether this newer generation has addressed and resolved the issues or it’s quality is still below average business class laptops, especially dell latitude and hp elitebook level.
Finally, also tell whether should I consider buying it or better quality alternatives are present
That being said, the specs on the one you linked are quite average: it won’t last as long as other budget notebooks, has a 2K display (nothing special), and is surprisingly heavy (at least imo). There are other budget laptops which, depending on sales, I might buy ahead of this one. In particular, people seem to like the Asus Zenbooks and Vivobooks. HPs Omnibook (the clamshell one) is also great and I think has decent I/O(?) and Lenovo also has Ideapads with dozens of configs, some of which have great reviews and are also for light business users. I’d check your local Costco or Best Buy before buying something from Lenovo. In my experience their sales aren’t usually that impressive, so if this is the discount they are offering you, it might be because they have no other choice in order to sell them (whereas retailers do sales for customer acquisition as well), or because there are better sales for this/competing units elsewhere.
I think it is ok at $600 or below. But for $850 and above you can do better. It has a very low powered processor, only 300 nit of brightness display, and a 1920 by 1200 screen.
