So I purchased the macbook air m4 16gb 512gb variant . Ill be honest here i dont like the mac os, as i was switching from windows so is there any better alternative for under 1000$ range which rivals the macbook ,and i was thinking of asus zenbook ultra 9 285h variant at 899 whats ur take on it?
Good choice. The zenbook S14 is good (not the zenbook 14, make sure you pick the S14), but i don’t think that it’s comparable to the M4 macbook air in terms of battery life and performance on everyday tasks. Although the zenbook is still a good choice and the sale price is great.
Zenbook 14 Is excellent for that price, it’s a decent laptop.
How about the vivobook s15 (with the Ryzen ai 9 hx 370, open box goes usually for 805 on best buy)

It’s normally $1299, but it’s $899 right now at Best Buy because of Cyber Monday sales.
The one caveat is that while it has 32 GB of RAM and an OLED screen, that screen is “only” 1920x1200, which while not terrible at 14 inches, is a bit on the lower end compared to a modern Retina MacBook.

Actually most of the time it’s worth to wait a bit since as I mentioned already (I think I mentioned it multiple times)
You can sometimes find the vivo book s15 which is overall a better device (with the ryzen ai 9 hx 370) for 805, open box. Just adding, if it may help.

Just be careful on waiting for a new laptop because of the recent RAM pricing surge. Trust me, it’s only going to get worse before it gets better…
