I’m extremely intrigued by these two Acer laptops; somehow they both have an RTX 5070, a 2880x1800 OLED touchscreen, a haptic touchpad, and even a bundled stylus that oddly only works on the touchpad!
While the Predator 14 has been reviewed by a couple of people like Jarrod’sTech, and IMO is absurdly overpriced esp compared to its competition (€2999);
the Acer Swift X 14 still hasn’t been reviewed by a single video 6 months after it was unveiled in Computex, even tho its price seems more reasonable for the specs (€1,799)
So uh, when can we expect the JustJosh crew to review both of these laptops? I highly anticipate them 
We are doing the Triton as part of our Best 14inch laptop video. It only arrived last week. Its a little late for a dedicated review at this point. The Acer Swift X I think we covered in a prior round up but I can’t remember
You guys reviewed the regular Swift, not the Swift X (which still hasn’t actually launched yet…. so we really need a proper review of it before it launches!)
and the regular Swift was so mediocre (as y’all said it yourselves on the review) that it never showed up in any round-up after 
(also the Swift review was on January, but the Swift X was only unveiled at Computex 2025 at May alongside the Triton)

But the Swift X does have a new config this year, the newest config got an RTX 5060/5070 and either AMD Ryzen 7 365 or Intel Core Ultra 9 285H

As a graphic designer myself, the haptic touchpad & bundled stylus are definitely the things I’m most interested on.
I’ve just never experienced a haptic touchpad in my life before, esp not on a Windows laptop; and also I want to see how the stylus experience compares to a dedicated drawing touchpad like say a Wacom.
But also, the fact that the Swift X 14 seems to have very similar specs to the Triton 14 for only ~65% of the Triton’s price seems a bit too good to be true:
- Both have RTX 5070
- Both have the same touchscreen 2880x1800 OLED panel
- Both have a haptic touchpad
- Both have the same 140W USB-C charger
- Both even has same bundled stylus that oddly only works on the touchpad
- The Swift X 14 even has stronger CPU options than the Triton! (the Triton is only offered with a Intel Lunar Lake 288V)
So I really wanna see if the Swift X’s thermals and internals are any different to the Triton.
Understood. If we can we will. Please note this generation of hardware ends around January with likely new models out then. We stop reviewing new laptops in Novemebr so we can round up our work for holiday buyers. Then in January we cover new models
