I’m kinda stuck on the 3 options I wrote below. I wanted the Samsung ones because I own a Samsung phone right now, so I thought it would be easy to have my laptop in the same ecosystem, but I was leaning toward getting the ZenBook since it’s on sale at Best Buy right now. I saw a couple of reviews, and they said the fans were noisy and it gets hot. I’m open to suggestions!!
For reference, I am a college student; my major is Criminal Justice. I need a new laptop for school. I need it to be able to run Adobe products easily but also be able to run multiple tabs or apps open without it being super loud while I’m in class or in the library.
Did you try out the new 2026 one? ASUS supposedly beefed up the heatsink and changed its fan curves, Alex over at Notebookcheck reviewed it as “improved”.
It also depends on what’s under the hood, the Samsungs can have an Ultra X chip or a regular Ultra one, with the latter offering worse graphics performance than the X, meanwhile the Zenbook slots in the middle.
Keyboards on Samsung’s 5th generation aren’t exceptionally good compared to the Zenbook’s (I was cross-shopping them last year so tried both in a store).
Beware though that the Zenbook has a Mediatek WiFi card, which is worse, that is soldered, so can’t be replaced with a better one.
